Hello, ELVIS fans:

Do you remember the 9th ELVIS movie “Follow that Dream”? We are taking a field trip to Crystal River and other movie spots where the film was shot. Come and join us.

Follow That Dream Field Trip- May 2nd at 8:30am-10:30 pm. Leaving from Tampa, (more details will follow next week) HURRY SEATS ARE GOING FAST!
GOOD NEWS! We have room for 10-15 more passengers on our Follow that Dream field trip!

We are renting a 40+ passenger bus for our trip to Follow that Dream and a venue for our ETA show, depending on the total number of tickets sold the price will be between $20.00 to $33.00. (the more people signed up, less the price each). We have come up with a great price for the bus (which will include the gas-200 miles to and from plus our 10 tour spots, driver and his time, 14 hr. trip)
Price of ticket for Follow That Dream field trip WILL INCLUDE rental of Bus, Gas to/from Crystal River and tour places in Inverness-Yankeetown, Inglis and Crystal River, Tour Book (20+ pages) of locations and pictures and Venue for our ETA show at a reduced rate for our fan club/Children Home charity, this Elvis (ETA) show will be advertised in the local paper for "open to the public" to attend for donations to our Childrens Home charity, and we have some special guests associated with movie.
This WILL NOT include Dinner at Cody's Roadhouse Restaurant in Crystal River, and donation @ Court House tour in Inverness! We will also be having a picnic lunch around 11:00/12:00, please bring a picnic item(s) to share.

2. Hardware Store, where Holly goes into fishing store to buy fishing supplies, across street from courthouse,
Inverness
3. Follow That Dream sign in Yankeetown
4. Pamela Drive- Where scenes where the gangsters try to do away with Toby.
5. Bridge/Beach Area-Bird Creek-Inglis (Major part of filming)
6. "WeAll House", Inglis
7. Basswood Avenue- Where Toby lifted the jalopy over the log
8. Crystal River School, sets were built inside the high school gym for the gambling trailer interior
9. Bridge on Kings Bay Dr., Crystal River and Outhouse Scene
10. Port Paradise Motel- Elvis and crew stayed while filming.
Leave Tampa - 8:30 am --------to Crystal River/Inverness and Return around 10:15/10:30 pm.

SUGGESTION: Watch the movie before going on Field Trip. This will enhance the trip.
ELVIS 1961 - Follow That Dream (Elvis was in Florida for 6 weeks while filming)
Elvis Presley's ninth movie was "Follow That Dream". It was based on Richard Powell's 1957 novel "Pioneer, Go Home", the story of the Kwimper family, who homesteaded on land along a newly built highway in Florida.
When the Kwimper family car runs out of gas on a new Florida highway and an officous state supervisor tries to run them off, Pop Kwimper digs in his heels and decides to do a little homesteading. He and his son Toby and their "adopted" children - Holly, Ariadne and the twins - start their own little community along a strip of the roadside.

    • “ We had the most fun I think we have ever had. Went to see several sites where "Follow that Dream" was filmed all aboard an air conditioned motorcoach with Elvis music and clips of the film played on DVD players. Thanks to Vickie May for making the DVD's. After our tour we went to Cody's Roadhouse Grill for dinner and then onto the venue where several ETA's did a fabulous show for us. The fun and comradarie of all the members was spectacular. Had a blast and look forward to our next event. ”
    • “ FANTASTIC! FANTASTIC! We had a wonderful time for our Follow That Dream Field Trip in Crystal River. We had some special guests who toured with us that lived and at the sets during the filming of ELVIS' 9th movie in Crystal River, Inverness, Yankeetown and Inglis in summer of 1961. We had some local residents of Crystal River that joined us from an article we had in their local Cronicle newspaper, even an Elvis impersonator. We visited 10 filming spots, had a picnic, and an Elvis show that night at a local venue in Crystal River. We had alot of laughs and FUN, FUN, FUN all day. Ok, the big question is, well the answer is YES, YES, we will plan another tour (by popular request). ”
